On Saturday, August 25th, I’ll be leaving the confines of my horribly disorganized cubicle to get a breath of fresh air. Oh, yes, and to participate in the Third Annual Writers in the Park.
The mini-conference is put on by the St. Louis Writers Guild and is held outside at Kirkwood Park – 111 S. Geyer Rd, in Kirkwood, Missouri. The event is free to the public and runs from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm.
W. E. “Bill” Mueller and I will be hosting a one hour seminar entitled Crime & Mystery, Writing the Novel or Short Story. I will be giving tips on writing a mystery novel, followed by Bill who will talk about writing crime/mystery short stories.
Additional seminars include: How to find an agent and publisher, Calling all young authors – learn to write a book, Speculative Fiction: From the Final Frontier to Middle Earth, Everything You Need to Know You Learned in Elementary School: Improve With the Basics, Poetry. Writing the Fight Scene, Kids Writing Workshop, 10 Things I’ve Learned After 20 Years as a Published Author, Haiku, and Young Writers Awards Workshop and Poetry Workshop for Kids.

I wish I had asked my husband for a ticket to ST. Louis for my birthday on the 25th to hear my favorite author speak.
